Week one of this season of the Contender Series saw a bit of a mixed bag as a few of the fights and fighters underperformed as we saw only two fighters who won receive contracts. One was, of course, a bit of history as Khamzat Chimaev’s teammate Baisangur Susurkaev won his contender series fight by first-round KO and then proceeded to make his UFC debut just 4 days later on the UFC 319 PPV, which was headlined by his teammate and newly crowned Middleweight champion, Khamzat Chimaev. Baisangur won his UFC debut in the featured prelim via a second-round rear-naked choke in the quickest debut for a contender series alum ever! We had an alright start to the season on straight picks as we went 2-3, pushing our record on the site to 36-18 on straight contender series fight picks. We have another full five-fight episode coming for you this Tuesday your full card preview is down below👇🏻 enjoy fight fans!
